ANTIQUUS INFESTUS "ANTIQUUS INFESTUS"

EL VALS SOMBRIO HACIA LA TUMBA

Proyecto de Black Metal y Death  nacido en 2011 en Italia y caracterizado por la mezcla cruda y agresiva que incluyen en ciertos pasajes metal progresivo o doom metal. Hablamos de la banda Antiquus Infestus encabezado por Malphas (vocalista actual y guitarrista).

Explorando temas oscuros como la decadencia  y caos cósmico, la cosmogonía del antiguo Egipto y los rituales ocultos, esta banda se adentra en esta ocasión en los juicios de Salem, en su álbum homónimo, de una manera histórica y real priorizando la intensidad, narrativa y la atmósfera.

Es un álbum para aquellos que anhelamos música teñida de decadencia y profundidad implacable.

 La banda rechaza las estructuras convencionales priorizando pasajes lentos y opresivos. El miembro principal en la nueva era es un punto de inflexión donde Malphas asume las funciones vocales con una amplio rango (blackened cries) y la guitarra, descargando melodías inquietantes sintiendo cada acorde como una "incisión ritual" en su propia carne.

SU CONEXION CON SALEM: Violencia divina, decadencia y sufrimiento.

Todos los temas giran en torno a este episodio histórico dando como resultado "La pesadilla de Las brujas Hecho música" centrándose en la histeria colectiva causada por la religión y la ignorancia durante los juicios de la brujas de Salem.

La portada del álbum es la representación de Increase Mather, un clérigo puritano de Nueva Inglaterra de 1685, quien jugo un papel decisivo en la defensa de los tribunales y los acusadores que condenaron a 19 personas a morir en la horca. por supuesto satanismo Todo se explica en el ensayo "Increase, Providencias extraordinarias" de 1684. El sendero que nos conduce hasta el tema "The Wolf, The Pig And The Ram"

tiene una fuerte carga simbólica en la iconografía religiosa y ocultista. La ferocidad del lobo que acecha en las sombras, el cerdo como impureza y la glotonería y el carnero, el símbolo mas directo del ocultismo y satanismo. Es una critica directa a la hipocresía de la fe ciega bajo los sonidos limpios, técnicos, melódicos en una atmosfera gélida y calculada.

En todo el álbum hay una sensación de inquietud constante, de armonía inteligente donde la voz de Malphas es desgarradora, intangible, desesperada y de metamorfosis espiritual.

La historia colectica y la locura , actúo como el miedo a ese "enemigo invisible" que llevó a una sociedad entera al colapso moral: "Witches Hill". Con una atmosfera fría y desesperada, el cuarteto hace referencia al epicentro geográfico y espiritual (la colina de la horca) donde fueron ejecutadas 19 personas en 1692 siendo arrojadas a las grietas de la montaña por considerarlas malditas.
Si el anterior tema mostraba la parte técnica, "Ashes Of The Puritans" es la destrucción de los dogmas. Charlando con Malphas comenta: "Este álbum no es sólo sonidos, música, si no historia contada desde la verdad. No es sólo una critica al cristianismo, si no a la mentalidad de "pureza" que juzga y castiga lo instintivo". Clausurando el LP con este tema, celebran el fin de esa falsa moralidad reduciéndola a cenizas.

Con este espectacular y brillante álbum conceptual, los italianos no sólo profundizan en este evento histórico. sino que sirve como una metáfora central para explorar la decadencia humana y el fanatismo.

Para Antiquus Infestus, Salem es la prueba de que existe una oscuridad en la civilización que siempre esta a punto de emerger y prueba de ello los 40 minutos que dura el álbum.

Nota: El artwork del esta realizado por el artista francés multidisciplinar Maxime Taccardi , conocido por su estética de Black Metal y arte macabro bajo el concepto de "arte total" usando su propia sangre como material en sus pinturas.

All the themes revolve around this historical episode, resulting in "The Nightmare of the Witches Made Music," focusing on the collective hysteria caused by religion and ignorance during the Salem witch trials. The album cover is a depiction of Increase Mather, a Puritan minister from New England in 1685, who played a decisive role in defending the courts and the accusers who condemned 19 people to die by hanging.
