BRUTALIDAD VISCERAL

Reconozco que descubri el cuarteto británica Cage Fight hace un par de años con su álbum debut homónimo "Cage Fight" publicado en mayo de 2022, siguiendo los pasos de su inmensa vocalista Rachel Aspe, que procedía de la banda de culto de metal moderno francesa Eths (2013-2016) conocida por su increíble potencia vocal (se hizo viral por sus covers y por la audición en France´s Got Talent)

CRUDEZA SIN FILTROS 

Formados a distancia durante el confinamiento en Londres en 2021, Rachel grababa desde Francia mientras James Monteith (miembro fundador de TesseracT) hacia lo propio desde Londres. Su primer trabajo "Cage Fight" esta lleno de rabia acumulada e influenciados por sonidos hardcore old school new yorkino fusionados con el death metal y el thrash, por esas bandas ochenteras como Hatebreed, Slayer y por Body Count a quienes versionaron, pero lo que de verdad conecto con el publico, fue el tema "Eating Me Alive" junto a la enciclopedia del metal y defensor incansable de bandas emergentes como era el vocalista Trevor Strnad de The Black Dahlia Murder y, si,   tristemente seria la ultima colaboración que grabó y publicó en vida. Lanzaron un video que mezclaba estética de comic de terror con imágenes de la banda como homenaje.

EXUVIA: EL FIN DE LA DEBILIDAD Y RENACIMIENTO A TRAVES DEL DOLOR

Cuatro años después desprenden oscuridad y tecnicismo en un trabajo mucho mas maduro. Mudando la piel o evolucionando (Exuvia) hacia algo más complejo sin perder esa visceralidad y brutalidad, Rachel asume su rol de letrista principal en temas personales como una purga emocional donde aborda temas como el duelo por su abuela en "Elégie" Nota: La mascara de la portada es la mascara de radioterapia que uso la abuela de Rachel. Un símbolo de lucha y supervivencia. 

 El acoso virtual y pura humillación en un ataque directo sobre el abuso de poder, codicia y falta de empatía con rabia real en "Pig" dominando guturales profundos , gritos de hardcore y voces limpias. "Oxygen" ,ahogarse y asfixiarse en un entorno tóxico con un tema que sin duda toca la parte mas salvaje con sonidos Death Metal técnico con guitarras más complejas y disonantes. Rachel aporta esa parte claustrofóbica y densa al tema.

un álbum crudo y directo velocidad Thrash, Groove hardcore purgando el oscuro pasado. Un álbum visceral y evolutivo musicalmente con voces limpias, explorando un rango mucho mas amplio y colaborando uno de los mejores vocalistas, el carismático líder de la banda francesa de Deathgrind Benighted, Julien Truchan en "Pick Your Fighter" .

Rachel se consagra como una de las mejores voces del metal actual con una

producción pulida mezclando el hardcore con matices progresivos refinando algo mas técnico y atmosférico sin dejar atrás esa rabia y energía con toque de suciedad que caracteriza a la banda. La banda deja de ser animal para convertirse en una bestia embriagadora "Exuvia". 

Hardcore de la vieja escuela frente al Death moderno sonando con una química increíble entre Monteith y Aspe con rabia, oscuridad y madurez.

I acknowledge that I discovered the British quartet Cage Fight a couple of years ago with their self-titled debut album "Cage Fight" released in May 2022, following in the footsteps of their immense vocalist Rachel Aspe, who came from the French modern metal cult band Eths (2013-2016) known for her incredible vocal power (she went viral for her covers and for the audition on France's Got Talent)

EXUVIA: THE END OF WEAKNESS AND REBIRTH THROUGH PAIN

 Four years later, they release darkness and technicality in a much more mature work. Shedding the skin or evolving (Exuvia) into something more complex without losing that visceral and brutal nature, Rachel assumes her role as the main lyricist in personal themes like an emotional purge where she addresses topics such as mourning her grandmother in "Élégie." Note: The mask on the cover is the radiotherapy mask that Rachel's grandmother used. A symbol of struggle and survival. The virtual harassment and pure humiliation in a direct attack on abuse of power, greed, and lack of empathy with real rage in "Pig," dominating deep gutturals, hardcore screams, and clean vocals. "Oxygen," drowning and suffocating in a toxic environment with a song that undoubtedly touches the wildest part with technical Death Metal sounds with more complex and dissonant guitars. Rachel brings that claustrophobic and dense element to the song.

A raw and direct album, Thrash speed, Groove hardcore purging the dark past. A visceral and musically evolutionary album with clean vocals, exploring a much wider range and collaborating with one of the best vocalists, the charismatic leader of the French Deathgrind band Benighted, Julien Truchan, on "Pick Your Fighter".

Rachel establishes herself as one of the best voices in current metal with a polished production blending hardcore with progressive nuances, refining something more technical and atmospheric without leaving behind that rage and energy with a touch of dirtiness that characterizes the band. The band stops being animal and becomes an intoxicating beast 'Exuvia.' Old-school hardcore versus modern death, sounding with incredible chemistry between Monteith and Aspe with rage, darkness, and maturity.
